Brother Ali is a hip-hop artist who held a concert at Sacramento State University. This is a promotional campaign to encourage students and faculty to attend. It includes posters, digital screens, flyers, and web images. Through his music, Brother Ali questions the workings of the U.S. government and makes his listeners aware of the struggles that underprivileged minority people face in this country. The stripes in these images symbolize the American flag as well as the figurative jail cell that Brother Ali is trapped in. The images in this campaign have a slightly weathered, “grunge” feel to reflect the preferences of the typical hip-hop fan.
